“I can’t live, if living is without you..” A line from the song, Without You, originally sang by Harry Nilson in the 70’s and was revived by Mariah Carey in the 90’s. Such a lovely song, though it sounds disheartening, real-life relationships hold this words true.
Symbiosis describes close interactions between two or more different species. A relationship where two species live together for the benefit of both. Symbiotic relationships can be obligate or facultative. There are species who lives together by choice; facultative symbiosis, while there are those that can’t survive without the other; obligate symbiosis. The latter gives us that literal phrase, “I can’t live, if living is without you..”

I went to my dentist this morning for a dental check-up due to some gum bleeding when I brush my teeth and having experience a little sensitivity on one of my upper right molars. After checking my mouth, the dentist said that I got gum abrasions that I might have brush too hard, bruising my gums to the point of hurting even the root of my tooth.
Well, blame it to my parents, they never told me it’s bad to brush my teeth hard. But I guess mom did. Maybe I was so preoccupied with having fun all the time in my childhood days. 😀
Thankfully, there’s no decay or anything, just the “not” so minor gum abrasions probably developed long ago until I finally took the matter of taking care of myself seriously.
Back to my painful, sorrowful tooth misery. I’ve been eating green mangoes for the fast few days before this pain came in. Have you experience eating green mangoes and feeling some kind of sensitivity or a different flavor in your mouth thereafter? Green mangoes and pineapples (eaten by itself) are loaded with acid that will damage our tooth enamel but they’re not the ones we need to really be careful with, it’s the ACID-FORMING foods that we eat. They are the culprits. Continue reading “Protecting and Maintaining Natural Healthy Gums and Teeth”
If you are aiming for that “healthy new you”, you’ll be better off eating brown rice than white rice. Both grains are not really good for anybody but because Filipinos are used to eating rice as our staple, it is very hard for us to get rid of it.
Brown rice is “unmilled” rice, only the hull is removed, thus the bran and germ which contains the nutrients that we need is still there making it more healthier to eat than white rice. White rice, on the other hand, is processed by removing the hull, the bran, and the germ leaving the white part behind, as well as leaving us with almost zero nutrients at all. It was just a dream, a dream that I longed to be realized when I was still in high school and in college. I love music, I love it so much because it strengthen my soul and gets me going in times of difficulties. It is kind of sad that I don’t have a great voice but I guess it’s good enough not to let lizards fall off the ceiling. 🙂
I have always been amazed how cool those guys who plays guitar are. Anywhere I go, whenever I see one of those guys strumming their guitars and singing songs, makes me think that learning to play one will be a great thing for me. It will not only lift up my spirit but will make me feel fulfilled too. Continue reading “My first guitar, a dream come true..”
Happy 18th Birthday! You are the fairest amongst all the “Tura” Clan and you’re clever too because you followed the disastrous step I’ve taken..hehehe..You are still young, always remember that things will change if you will take the first few steps to change it. I believe that you are happy with what you have right now but there’s more to life out there you’ve never seen. I wish to see you reaching for your dreams just like I do. I wish to see you having a different perspective in life being closer to our Creator. Having a baby or getting married is not the end of the world for us women. Sometimes it feels that way though 😀 . But it should not stop us to be ourselves and to reach our DREAMS. Continue reading “A message to my dear cousin on her 18th birthday.”

The Anthropocene Age..
The Holocene meaning “entirely recent” epoch began 11,700 years ago after the major Ice Age. But recently, environmentalists and geologists are arguing about this buzzword “Anthropocene”. The term was coined by Eugene Stoermer and popularized by an atmospheric chemist and Nobel laureate Paul Crutzen in the year 2000. The word struck a chord to everyone’s mind. Anthropocene is a combination of Greek roots: anthropo– meaning “man” and –cene meaning “new”. All epochs in the Cenozoic Era end in “cene”. So here comes Anthropocene – The Man-Made Age.
